Dying Of Embarassment

I went to a luncheon on the weekend for suicide awareness. We have to stop treating this as taboo. People are too scared or too embarrassed to talk about it and people are dying because of it. I am hearing about way too many kids that think it is there only way out. We need to start talking about it…survivors should not have to hide, we find comfort in those that share our pain. I tried and luckily I survived, which is why I am trying to bring it out in the forefront so others do not have to follow the same path only to reach their goal. It is an epidemic and the embarrassment that surrounds it needs to go! Suicide is real, it is a problem and we owe it to those who have lost hope to be willing to talk and by talking…we can save lives.
